Hey everyone! I'm a small creator (about 25k subs) focused on audio gear reviews and music production tutorials. Over the last few months, my channel has blown up thanks to a couple of videos going viral, and I'm now getting approached by brands for sponsorships. I've never done a paid brand deal before, and I'm totally lost on how to price myself.
I know the general rule of thumb is $10-$20 per 1,000 views for integrated sponsorships, but my average views are around 8k-15k per video, with a few spikes to 100k+. Some brands are offering flat rates like $200-$300, which feels low, but I also don't want to scare them off. I've also heard about CPM-based deals, affiliate links, and exclusive codes – how do I factor those in?
What's a fair rate for a channel my size? Should I negotiate based on my recent viral videos or my average? And how do I structure the deal (e.g., flat fee vs. performance-based)? Any advice from creators who've been through this would be a huge help!
