Hey everyone! I've been creating content for about a year now and just hit 10K subscribers on YouTube. I'm getting a lot of small brands reaching out for free product exchanges, but I want to start landing paid sponsorships. I feel like I have a decent niche (tech reviews) and my engagement is solid, but I'm not sure how to pitch to bigger brands or what to say in an email. Does anyone have experience with this? Any templates or tips for a small creator trying to break into brand deals? Also, what should I charge? I don't want to undersell myself but also don't want to scare brands away with crazy rates. Thanks!

I remember being in your shoes! The key is to build a media kit that shows your value beyond just subscriber count. Include your engagement rate, audience demographics, and any standout videos. For pitching, keep it concise and personalized – mention why you like their product and how it fits your content. As for pricing, a common rule of thumb for small creators is $20-$50 per 1,000 views for a dedicated video, but you can start with a flat rate based on your average views. Don't be afraid to negotiate; brands expect it. Also, use platforms like Brandbassador or Grapevine to find smaller sponsored opportunities first to build your portfolio.

Great question! When emailing brands, always use a clear subject line like "Sponsorship Collaboration with [Your Channel] – [Specific Video Idea]". In the body, introduce yourself in 2-3 sentences, highlight a recent relevant video (link it), and propose a specific integration (e.g., a dedicated review or a segment in your upcoming video). If you have audience insights (age, location, interests), include them. For pricing, check your RPM (revenue per mille) and aim for 2-3x that for a sponsored mention, or 5-10x for a dedicated video. Also, don't forget to set a deadline for a response to create urgency. I've had success with that approach!

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I'll definitely put together a media kit and try the personalized email approach. I think I was overcomplicating it – just needed to be more direct and confident. I'll start with a flat rate based on my average views and adjust from there. Really appreciate the advice, this community is awesome!
