Hey everyone, I've been posting Shorts daily for about two weeks now. My first few videos got a few hundred views each, but for the past 5 days, every new Short is stuck at 0 views after 24 hours. They're not getting flagged or anything, just zero impressions. I'm using relevant hashtags, a catchy hook, and I'm following all the best practices I've read about. I've also checked my channel for any strikes or community guidelines warnings – nothing there.

I'm starting to think I've been shadowbanned, but I'm not sure if that's even a real thing on YouTube. Could it be a technical issue? Or is there something in my content that's causing this? I'd love to hear if anyone else has experienced this and what they did to fix it. I'm really frustrated because I was starting to see some momentum.

Have you checked your 'Short feed' visibility? Sometimes, if you're posting at the same time as a huge influx of content, your Shorts can get lost. Also, make sure you're not reusing content from other platforms (like TikTok) with a watermark – YouTube's algorithm can suppress that. Try posting at different times (early morning or late night) and see if that changes anything.

That's a good point, but I'd also suggest looking at your audience retention. Even with zero views, the algorithm might be testing your video on a small subset of viewers, and if the swipe-away rate is high, it stops pushing. Check your 'Viewed vs swiped away' metric in the analytics for those videos. If it's below 70%, that's a red flag. Also, are you using any copyrighted audio? That can limit distribution if the audio is claimed, even if it's not a strike.

I've seen this happen a lot, especially with newer channels. One thing that helped me was to go to YouTube Studio > Content > select the Short > click on 'Edit' > and then 'Show more' to see if there's any 'Limited features' or 'Not eligible for Shorts feed' notification. Sometimes it's a technical glitch, and re-uploading after 24 hours can fix it. Also, make sure your video is vertical (9:16), under 60 seconds, and has a resolution of at least 1080x1920. I know it sounds basic, but I've seen people accidentally upload a horizontal video and it just flops.

Thanks everyone for the tips! I checked my analytics and it turns out the issue was that my videos were not getting enough initial engagement – the retention was around 40%, which is terrible. I also realized I was using a copyrighted audio track that might have been limiting distribution. I switched to original audio and improved my hook, and my latest Short is already at 500 views after 2 hours! So it wasn't a shadowban, just a content quality issue. Appreciate all the help!
