How to interpret YouTube Analytics for a struggling channel?

I've been noticing a weird trend lately. I started my channel two years ago making very specific, niche tutorials on retro game development in Unreal Engine 5. My videos were doing okay, a few thousand views each, great engagement. Then I made one video that blew up (100k+ views) about 'The Best LUTs for Cyberpunk Color Grading' – completely unrelated to my usual content. Since then, the algorithm has been pushing me to make more of that kind of 'trendy tutorial' content. My subscriber count is up, but my old audience is complaining that I've sold out. I feel like I'm just chasing the algorithm now instead of making what I love. Is anyone else experiencing this pressure to conform to a certain 'YouTube meta'? It's starting to kill my passion.
