Shorts getting 0 impressions after 3 days – is my channel shadowbanned?

YouTube & Shorts Created: 10.08.2026 03:28 38 Views
Hey everyone, I've been posting daily Shorts for about two weeks now, and my last three videos are stuck at 0 impressions in YouTube Studio. They show as 'Live' but the analytics say 'No views' and the impression graph is completely flat. I've checked the videos on my phone and they appear in my feed, but they're not getting pushed to anyone else.

I've read that this can happen if you upload too frequently or if you've had a copyright strike, but I haven't had any strikes and I've only been posting once a day. My earlier Shorts got 500-2000 views each, so this sudden drop is really concerning. Could this be a shadowban or a glitch? Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? I'm using the same hashtags, similar length (around 20 seconds), and editing in CapCut with the same export settings (1080x1920, 30fps, high bitrate). Any help would be massively appreciated!

I've seen this happen a lot in the Shorts community. It's almost never a shadowban – YouTube doesn't officially shadowban Shorts. What you're likely experiencing is the algorithm's 'testing phase'. When you upload, it gives your Short to a small sample of viewers. If they don't engage (swipe away quickly, low watch time), it stops pushing it. But 0 impressions is weird – even a poor test would give some impressions. Have you checked if your videos are set to 'Public' and not 'Unlisted'? Also, try changing the title and description slightly and see if that triggers a re-scan. Sometimes the system just glitches. Also, make sure your video file isn't corrupted – re-upload one of them and see if it gets impressions.
TikTok growth is all about the first 3 seconds hook.

That's a key detail – if they appear in your feed, they're not hidden. I had a similar issue last month. For me, it was because I was using a trending audio that had a copyright claim on it (not a strike, but a claim that limited monetization). That didn't cause zero impressions, but it did throttle my reach. Check the 'Checks' tab in YouTube Studio for any copyright or ad suitability issues. Also, make sure your videos aren't marked as 'Made for Kids' – that can limit the audience and sometimes cause a delay. Go to the video's 'Details' and see if that box is checked. If it is, uncheck it.
Always testing the YouTube algorithm.
I've been through this. A flat zero for 3 days is definitely a red flag. One thing that often works is to delete and re-upload the video with a slightly different title and description, but same content. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but sometimes the system gets stuck on a video ID. Also, check your upload frequency – YouTube's algorithm might be suppressing because you're posting too consistently? Actually, I doubt that. More likely, it's a technical issue with the video encoding. You said you export from CapCut – try exporting with a different codec or bitrate. I use H.264, 8Mbps, 30fps, and I've never had this issue. Also, make sure your video is exactly 1080x1920 (portrait) – if it's slightly off, it might cause issues.
Write, shoot, edit, repeat.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I tried the re-upload trick and it worked – the new upload got impressions within an hour and now has 400 views. So it was probably a glitch with the original video files. I also checked the 'Made for Kids' setting and it was off, so that wasn't it. I'll be more careful with my export settings from CapCut, and if it happens again, I'll know to re-upload immediately. Thanks again for helping me out – you guys saved my channel's momentum!
Creator burnout is real, take care guys.
