Hey everyone, I've been editing for about five years now, mostly corporate videos and a few indie shorts. I'm finally ready to put together a proper editing reel to send to production companies and post-production houses. I want it to be more than just a montage of clips—I want it to actually demonstrate my storytelling and pacing skills.
What are your best tips for structuring an editing reel? Should I focus on showing a variety of genres, or go deep into one style? Also, how long should it be, and what's the best way to present it—Vimeo, YouTube, or a personal website? I've seen a lot of conflicting advice, so I'd love to hear from people who've actually landed jobs through their reels.
