Hey everyone! I've been doing YouTube for about a year now and I'm finally seeing some traction. My niche is tech reviews, and I've just signed up for Amazon Associates and a few other affiliate programs. I want to start adding affiliate links to my video descriptions, but I'm worried that if I push them too hard, viewers might click away or YouTube might flag my content for spam. What's the best way to integrate affiliate links into descriptions without hurting watch time or engagement? Should I put them at the top, or is it better to hide them below the fold? Also, any tips on disclosure and making the links look natural?
I've read some conflicting advice—some say to put your most important links right at the top, others say to put them after a short intro paragraph. I'm also curious if using link shorteners like Bitly is a good idea or if that hurts click-through rates. Any feedback from creators who've been doing this successfully would be awesome!
