Hey everyone, I run a tech review channel and recently started uploading all my videos in 4K. My watch time and views have actually gone up by about 20% since making the switch, but my AdSense RPM has plummeted by nearly 40% – from around $12 to $7.50. I'm not sure if this is just a temporary fluctuation or if there's something about 4K that's hurting my ad revenue.
I've heard that higher resolution videos can lead to higher production costs, but does that affect the ad rates? Or is it possible that my audience demographics are changing because 4K videos attract a different (maybe less valuable) audience? I'm considering reverting back to 1080p, but I don't want to lose the traction I've gained. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
