How do I transition from hobbyist to paid freelance video editor?
I've been editing videos for friends and family for a couple of years now, mostly as a hobby, but I think I'm ready to start charging for my work. I have a solid grasp of Premiere Pro and After Effects, and I've done some color grading in DaVinci Resolve. However, I'm totally lost when it comes to the business side: how do I find my first clients, what should I charge, and how do I present my work without a professional portfolio? Any advice from those who've made the leap would be hugely appreciated.
