Hey everyone, I've been making Shorts for about 6 months now, and I'm stuck. My editing and quality have improved a lot, but my retention drops off a cliff after the first 2 seconds. I know the hook is supposed to be the most important part, but every time I write one, it feels forced or clickbaity. I've tried starting with a question, a bold statement, even a visual gag, but nothing seems to work consistently.
I'm looking for practical advice on how to structure a hook that feels natural but still grabs attention. Do you have any frameworks or formulas you use? Also, how do you balance the hook with the rest of the script so the video doesn't feel like a bait-and-switch? Any examples would be super helpful!
