Hey everyone! I'm working on a new travel vlog and I'm struggling with the pacing of my jump cuts. The footage is great, but the edit feels too choppy and jarring, especially during the montage sequences. I'm using Premiere Pro and I've tried cutting on action, but it still doesn't flow smoothly. I want that energetic, fast-paced feel like Casey Neistat or Peter McKinnon, but without making viewers dizzy. I've been cutting at a consistent rhythm, but it feels robotic. What am I missing?
I'm also wondering about the right time to use J and L cuts versus hard cuts. My current project has a lot of dialogue and I'm worried that too many jump cuts make it feel unnatural. Any advice on how to balance speed with watchability? I'd love to hear your workflow for pacing and cutting, especially if you edit daily vlogs or fast-paced content. Thanks in advance!
