My Shorts views tanked after posting consistently for a month – what am I missing?
Hey everyone, I've been posting daily Shorts for the past month, mostly niche content about filmmaking tips and behind-the-scenes setups. My first couple of videos did great (10k–50k views), but the last two weeks every single Short is stuck around 200–400 views. I'm using the same hashtags, similar hooks, and I've kept the length under 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it's the algorithm, my content, or maybe I'm posting at the wrong time. I've read that YouTube tests new uploads with a small group first, then expands if the swipe-away rate is low. But my retention is actually around 80–90% for the first 3 seconds, and the average view duration is good. Could it be that the algorithm is 'flagging' my channel for something? Or maybe I should change my upload frequency? Any advice from people who've been through this would be awesome.
