How do you structure your portfolio for corporate clients? (Showcase yours!)

Portfolio Showcase Created: 02.08.2026 11:45 1 Views
Hey everyone! I've been editing for about 3 years now, mostly music videos and small brand ads, but I'm trying to pivot into corporate work (explainers, internal comms, event recaps). I feel like my current portfolio is too 'flashy' and not showing the clean, concise storytelling that corporate clients want. I've been going back and forth on how to structure it – should I have separate reels for each niche, or one master reel that shows range? Also, what's the ideal length for a corporate-focused portfolio piece? I'd love to see how you all organize your portfolios and what's worked for you when pitching to businesses. Drop your links or describe your structure below!

I totally get that – I went through the same shift a few years ago. For corporate clients, I've found that a single, curated reel (around 60-90 seconds) is best, but it MUST be structured like a mini-case study. Start with a hook that shows a business problem (e.g., a cluttered process), then show your edit solving it with clear graphics and pacing, and end with a clean logo. Avoid any music-video style transitions – corporate clients want to see that you can handle their brand's tone. I also recommend creating a separate PDF or page on your site with 3-4 full-length case studies (with before/after or breakdowns) because they love seeing the 'why' behind your cuts. I've landed two recurring corporate retainers this way. My site is renderwave.studio if you want to see how I structured mine – happy to answer any questions!
TikTok growth is all about the first 3 seconds hook.
Thanks, renderwave36 – that's super helpful! I actually went through your site and love how you separate 'Commercial' and 'Corporate' sections. I've now trimmed my main reel down to 75 seconds, focusing on clean cuts and clear storytelling. Also started adding a one-page case study for each of my top 3 corporate projects, explaining the client's goal and my editing choices. Already sent it to a potential client and they specifically mentioned they appreciated the structure. This forum is gold – problem solved!
