Hey everyone! I'm editing a 3-camera interview for my YouTube channel and I'm having trouble syncing audio. I recorded with two Sony A7IVs and a GoPro, but I only used an external recorder (Zoom H6) for the main audio. I know Resolve 19 has a new 'Multi-Cam' feature, but I'm not sure if I should use the auto-sync based on waveforms or if I need to manually align the clips. Also, my GoPro footage has a slight drift over time, so I'm worried about long-term sync issues. What's the best workflow for this? Should I use PluralEyes or is Resolve's built-in sync good enough? Any tips would be appreciated!

Great question! Resolve's built-in sync is actually really solid in v19. For your scenario, I'd recommend using the 'Multi-Cam' workflow in the Edit page. Select all your clips, right-click, and choose 'Create Multi-Cam Source Using Audio'. Since you have a Zoom H6 as the primary audio, you'll want to sync each camera's scratch audio to that. The waveform sync is accurate to the sample level, so it should be fine for short clips. For the GoPro drift, you can manually adjust sync in the Multi-Cam viewer by using the 'Sync' button (the clock icon) and then using the frame offset controls. But if you're worried about long-form drift, I'd suggest using PluralEyes – it's still the gold standard for drift correction. It can handle the drift over time by stretching audio, which Resolve can't do automatically. However, for a typical interview under 30 minutes, Resolve's sync should hold up fine. Just make sure your scratch audio is clean – mute the camera's internal mic if possible to avoid echo.

Thanks for the detailed response, pixelspark91! I decided to go with Resolve's built-in sync for now, and it worked perfectly for the first 10 minutes, but I did notice a slight drift with the GoPro after about 15 minutes. I ended up using the 'Offset' controls in the Multi-Cam editor to fix it manually, and it's all synced now. I'll definitely look into PluralEyes for future long-form projects, but for this one, Resolve saved me. Appreciate the help!
