Shorts Algorithm 2026: Why do my 30-60 sec videos get 0 impressions after 48h?
Hey everyone, I've been posting daily Shorts for about 3 months now, mostly 30-60 second clips with trending audio and good hooks (I think). But for the last two weeks, every single Short gets stuck at 0-10 impressions after 48 hours. I've tried changing hashtags, using different thumbnails (I know they matter less on Shorts), and even reposting after 24h, but nothing helps. My channel has 4.2k subs and 1.2M total views, so it's not a brand new channel issue. I've read that the Shorts algorithm changed in 2026 with the new 'Retention Loop' update, but I can't find any official docs. Does anyone know what actually triggers the initial 500-1000 impressions? Is it still based on swipe-away rate, or is there something else I'm missing? I'm about to lose my mind over this. Any help would be massively appreciated!
