Struggling to Convert Viewers into Affiliate Sales? Here’s My Funnel – Need Feedback

Hey everyone! I’ve been running a faceless tech review channel for about 8 months now, and I’ve finally got a steady 2-3k views per video. But here’s the problem: my affiliate earnings are almost nonexistent. I’m using Amazon Associates and some tech gear links (like from B&H), but I only get maybe 1-2 clicks per video, and zero conversions. I’ve placed the links in the description, pinned comment, and even mention them verbally at the end of the video. I’ve also tried using a link shortener (but not a clunky one – just a clean Bitly link) to track clicks, but still nothing. I’m starting to think it’s my audience – maybe they’re just not the buying type? Or maybe my content is too broad. My videos are things like “Top 5 Budget Gaming Mice” and “Best USB-C Hubs for MacBook” – so they should be buyer-intent topics, right? But I’m not seeing any traction. I’ve also tried adding a “Buy Me a Coffee” button, but that’s also dead. Has anyone here cracked the code on affiliate conversion? I’m open to any suggestions – from how to frame the links in the video, to what kind of call-to-action works, or even if I should switch to a different affiliate network. I’m not making enough to even cover my coffee budget, so any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Using copyrighted music in YouTube videos: What's the safest way to avoid strikes?

Hey everyone, I'm a small creator just starting out and I've been making gaming montages and vlogs. I've seen a lot of conflicting info about using copyrighted music in YouTube videos. Some say you can use any song as long as you give credit, others say you'll get a strike immediately. I want to avoid any copyright strikes on my channel because I've heard three strikes can get you banned. What's the actual rule? Can I use a few seconds of a song in my video? And what about using music from Twitch streams or other platforms? I'd love to hear from experienced creators who have been through this.

How do you handle color grading when collaborating with a remote editor?

Hey everyone! I'm about to start my first collaboration with a remote editor for a travel vlog series. We're working in DaVinci Resolve, and I'm handling the color grading while they handle the edit. The problem is, we're in different time zones and I'm worried about the workflow getting messy—especially with color management, LUTs, and version control. What's the best way to set up a shared project so we can both work on the same timeline without stepping on each other's toes? Should I use Resolve's collaboration feature, or is it easier to just send them a reference grade and have them edit with proxies? Also, any tips on avoiding color shifts when they render out their cut for me to grade? I'd love to hear what's worked for you in real projects.

How to make my portfolio reel stand out to wedding clients?

Hey everyone! I've been shooting weddings for about two years now, and I finally put together a portfolio reel to show potential clients. I've got a mix of cinematic highlights, emotional moments, and some drone shots, but I feel like it's just not converting. I've had a few inquiries, but most say they love the video yet don't book. I'm wondering if it's the structure, the pacing, or maybe the music choice? I'm using a 60-second cut with a slow build, but maybe that's too slow for today's couples? I'd love any feedback on what makes a wedding portfolio reel actually sell. Should I focus more on the emotional storytelling, or is it more about flashy transitions and trending audio? Also, how do you handle the fact that every wedding looks similar after a while – how do you make yours unique? Any tips on what to include or avoid would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Why is my retention dropping at the 2-minute mark? Critique my latest video

Hey everyone, I've been grinding on my tech review channel for about 6 months now, and I'm stuck. My latest video (a review of the new Sony A7 V) gets decent click-through rates (around 8%), but my audience retention graph shows a massive cliff at exactly the 2:00 minute mark. It drops from 70% to 30% in about 15 seconds. I think it might be the pacing of my intro, but I'm not sure. I've attached a screenshot of the retention graph from YouTube Studio. I've tried the 'hook' strategy—started with a quick B-roll of the camera in action, then cut to me talking directly to camera. The first two minutes cover the specs and build quality. Maybe I'm boring people with specs too early? I'd love a fresh pair of eyes. I'll link the video below—any specific critique on the first 2-3 minutes would be amazing.

Why is my alpha channel rendering with a black halo in Premiere Pro 2026?

I'm working on a complex VFX project where I need to export a clip with an alpha channel from After Effects 2026 and composite it over a background in Premiere Pro 2026. The alpha looks perfect in After Effects (preview shows transparent background), but when I import the rendered file (ProRes 4444 with alpha) into Premiere, the edges have a nasty black fringe/halo. I've tried rendering as QuickTime with Animation codec and also ProRes 4444, both with straight (unmatted) alpha. The issue persists. I'm on Windows 11, RTX 4090, latest drivers. Premiere Pro version 25.2. The source footage was shot on a Red Komodo 6K, but I'm only working with a small 1080p comp. I've checked the alpha channel in Premiere's Program Monitor by toggling the 'Transparency Grid' and the black halo is clearly visible on the edges of my motion graphics elements. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?
