How to Build a Killer Editing Portfolio That Actually Gets You Clients?

I've finally decided to take freelancing seriously, but I'm stuck on one thing: my portfolio. Right now it's just a random Vimeo link with a few projects thrown together, and I feel like it doesn't really sell my skills. I've watched a ton of YouTube videos, but most advice feels generic ("just show your best work!"). I'm looking for concrete advice: What's the best platform to host a portfolio in 2026? Should I include full videos or just showreels? How many projects is the sweet spot? And for someone who does both long-form and vertical content, should I separate them? Also, if anyone has experience with pricing or using portfolios to land clients on platforms like Upwork or even Instagram, I'd love to hear how you structure your presentation. Thanks in advance!
After Effects expressions for auto-scaling text to fit a dynamic lower third?
Hey everyone, I'm building a bunch of lower thirds for a client who wants them to auto-fit text that changes length. I'm using After Effects and I've tried using the 'Auto Size' feature in the Essential Graphics panel, but it only works if I manually adjust the box. I need an expression that makes the background bar and the text scale/width adapt automatically based on the text length, so I don't have to keyframe every time. I've seen some tutorials on using 'sourceRectAtTime()' but I'm not sure how to apply it to both a shape layer and the text layer without breaking the positioning. Also, I need to keep the text left-aligned and have the bar extend from left to right. Any help would be awesome!
