Hello from a long-time audio engineer diving into video!
Hey everyone! I'm Alex (audioguru78), and I've spent the last 15 years as a live sound engineer and studio mixer. I've worked with bands, podcasts, and even some corporate events, but I've always been behind the scenes. Recently, I've decided to start a YouTube channel where I break down audio concepts for video creators—like how to get clean dialogue, avoid clipping, and use compression properly. I'm excited to share what I know, but I'm also a total newbie when it comes to the visual side: cameras, lighting, editing, and all the platform algorithms. I've already learned a lot from lurking here, and I'm hoping to get some advice on the best way to transition from audio to full video production. I have a decent audio interface, a few mics (SM7B, shotgun, and some wireless lavs), but my camera is just a basic webcam. What's the most cost-effective way to step up my video quality without breaking the bank? Also, any tips on how to make my videos stand out in a crowded niche? How to create a realistic 3D camera track in After Effects without a 3D tracker?
Hey everyone! I'm a motion graphics artist working in After Effects, and I've been trying to composite 3D text into a live-action shot for a client project. The problem is, I don't have access to a dedicated 3D tracking tool like Mocha Pro or Cinema 4D's tracker, and I'm on a tight deadline. I've tried using the built-in 3D Camera Tracker in AE, but the footage is a bit tricky—it's a slow pan with some motion blur and a few moving elements in the foreground. The track keeps drifting, especially at the end of the clip. I've set the track points to 'Most Detailed' and tried 'Solve Camera' multiple times, but it's still not solid. Is there a way to stabilize the track manually or use some workaround to get a clean composite? I'm open to any tips or tricks, even if it involves using other software that's free or already in my Adobe subscription. Thanks for any help!
