Hey everyone! I'm a solo documentary filmmaker and I've been using a Rode VideoMic Pro+ on my camera for interviews, but it's just not cutting it for run-and-gun situations. The audio is too ambient and I'm spending way too much time cleaning it up in post. I need to step up my game with a wireless lav system, but I'm on a tight budget (under $300 for the whole kit).
I've been looking at the Rode Wireless GO II, the DJI Mic 2, and the Hollyland Lark Max. I know the Wireless GO II is older but still popular, the DJI Mic 2 has a touchscreen, and the Lark Max has internal recording. I'm shooting with a Sony A7 IV and I'll be doing mostly outdoor interviews with some movement. What would you recommend for reliability, audio quality, and ease of use for a solo shooter? Also, any tips on how to properly hide the lav and manage the transmitter during fast-paced shoots?
